Recon

So i know some folks hate them others love them but I really wanted one.  I'm talking about the Taurox.  I freely admit I hate the 4 tread version, and I looked a kit to make it a half track which probably would have fit my DAK theme a bit more but in the end I went with the 6x6 mod.

The awesome folks at Blood and Skulls Industry have some great kits from lights to add ons.  They are also where I got the mid mount turret platform for the Chimera.

This guy has been mag'ed so that it can work with the standard infantry as a Recon ride for my cool old school vet squad.  It can also as shown here be used with my Scions with that mean baby punisher canon.

Outrider

Needed a small couple of points to fill in gaps in the lists some times.  Nothing like a nimble little las cannon out on the edges to make your day.  Unless I run into an army of three foot teddy bears I should be fine.

Mostly end of day 2.

I say mostly end because I may be able to get some time in later.  Today has been a very busy day outside of this project but I did manage to get the new airbrush rig up and running. 

So shown here is 8 of the 10 hulls painted today.  Everyone has their stripes next process is getting the details done.   Really should have done most of this a week ago but hey why not.

End of Day 1

All of the tanks are based, waiting on the new airbrush compressor to come in so that I can do the stripes shown on the bottom center.

Once those are in place I'll be able to start on the detail work.

Other than the tanks I've got some character models to finish up.  I'll be posting a shot of those tommorow.

The big push

Well the clock is ticking, on Thursday around noon I leave for Austin and all the tanks have to be done.

Sooooo no small feat.  This is a shot of all the tanks that need to be completed as of noon on Saturday.  5 tanks need to be base coated, 10 have to have stripes and treads painted.  Basic details on the rest.  

Who needs sleep.

Progress!!!!

Well some progress at least.  I have the two Chimera's built, the three hell hounds built (two melta and a flamer) I've got 6 of 9 tanks built and have to decide if i'm going to push the other three in time.

All of the Chimera chassis vehicles have been base coated.  I still have 4 tanks to base coat.

down side is I technically have 10 days to get them table top ready.
